SOH DARLING
Soh Darling is a Chicago-based artist whose work typifies the best of soul, jazz, and R&B, all with a modern twist. After formative experiences with her early band, Idesia and touring with rapper Noname, Darling has emerged as a powerful voice answering the call for innovative, emotional, vocal-forward sound, while longtime collaborator danyo creates a symbiotic blend of pulse and flow. Their band’s album Golden Dreams (2015) amassed over 6 million streams and has been featured on various Spotify editorial playlists including Feel Good Dinner, I love my Neo-soul and Feminist Friday, while their most recent “PISCES - REMIX” music video opens the door to jazz-rooted music expressed in freeing house music form and structure.
GOLDEN DREAMS (2015)
Soul electronic group Idesia emerged in 2013 with sophisticated and soulful rhythms. Sweetened by Soh Darling’s lush and ethereal vocals, the band’s LA producers danyo, Brandon Combs and Colton Toy (Softstreak) carry listeners on a smooth trip where “you can retreat to when you need to relax.” (Hillydilly) Their album Golden Dreams (2015) was highlighted by their single “April Love” featured on various Spotify editorial playlists including Feel Good Dinner, I love my Neo-soul and Feminist Friday. Idesia has previously performed with Hiatus Kaiyote, Moonchild, as part of the Los Angeles Festival of Books and for the Switchfoot Bro-Am festival.
